a long, drawling, yet informative blog.

Well it’s been a while since any real smdge. News has been posted, so I just thought I’d scrawl another scrap of notes nodding toward our current state of projects in order to shed a little light for any of you who may be mildly interested or are just keen to know when you may next get the chance to sling insults at our work.

Well, as most of you will know, I’ve been working on my electronica projects for about a year & a half now. We’ve had plenty of interruptions & I’ve really wanted to take my time with them, so it’s been a long haul, but they are getting there now.

The ep ‘our monster’ will indeed be out to buy from our shop at www.patchedupbutstillmelting.com in the first week of December (bar any major printing error at the factory). This will include the tracks :

Hello, hello

Our monster (ep version)

Awake for nothing

Stephanie says

All of these tracks have been remixed & had new bits added to them for anyone who’s heard them before, & have obviously now been mastered. The clunky fake piano has also been replaced on all of them with real piano (or at least – will be on Friday) & some parts of the ep have some lovely strings on them now. It’s available now for pre-order.

The album itself – ‘without hurting’ was meant to be out in time for new year’s day, but may have to shuffle into January. This is due to the fact that I have some wonderful guest vocalists & contributors working on tracks for the album (including ‘Jersey’, ‘The Go Find’ & ‘Guther’ though these may change), & I really don’t want to rush this process. I hope people who have already pre-ordered understand. Email me if you want your money back. The album will include the tracks :

Open spaces

Our monster

Almost trouble, but what’s the point

Settle down

Already awkward now

Anysleep

Mothy hues

Her crsh’d white breath

Warming silence

On the indie side of things – the ‘Satellites’ ep will finally emerge in January (or possibly even December) also. I’ve spent a long time working on the supporting tracks for this ep & re-thinking the ‘sound’ & image of our indie work. I’m really very happy with how it’s coming along as it has a more intimate & rough, but still (hopefully) open & swelling shy indie feel to it & it’s much closer to how I always imagined the indie work to turn out. This will include the tracks :

Satellites

The weight of gravity

One with the freaks (‘The Notwist’ cover)

Disposition 2087 (working title)

I hope you all like it when it’s finally done. I also may be putting out a tiny 3 or 4 track ep of songs written mainly on a nylon guitar under my old moniker – ‘the polar bear equation’ at some point, but we will see.

My dear friend Thomas will be helping me out as always on bass with the electronica & will be back in the studio with us to lend us his talents on the indie recordings doing bass, some electric guitar & some vocals. He will also be doing some guest vocals on the electronica album, & I’m very happy about this! Except for the fact that it’ll show up my shaky voice!

& then – that’s about it. I have given myself until my birthday (17th Feb) to finish everything & send it all off to radio stations, record companies, magazines, etc, etc. & then I have to get a real job (so to speak) if nothing comes of it all. I’m also working on my illustration trying to get a job there, but time will tell.

Thanks to anyone who’s read this far in this deliriously self-involved blog, I appreciate it. & please please go to mp3.com to review us if you get the chance. We need to get a bit more interest there.

We have our lovely new t-shirts in stock now by the way over at www.patchedupbutstillmelting.com & if you pre-order the new electronica album & ep then you will get a t-shirt free! Whoop indeed.

& I’m still taking emails for people who want a free promo cd from our company.

Hugs to you all, please email me, leave comments on the songs, pictures, horrific videos etc (we need the love) & make sure you keep smiling.
